    11 July 1826
    John took out a fire insurance policy with the Sun Fire Office on the houses at 1 Tollington Place (valued at  £500) and 1-12 New Road, Tollington Park, Hornsey Road, Islington (valued at £4200). All the houses were made of brick and at least the 12 houses in New Road were unfinished.

    Isaac Pocock, an engineer of Maidenhead Bridge, Berks, and John took out a fire insurance policy with the Sun Fire Office on the empty houses at 1 Tollington Place, Tollington Park, Hornsey Road, Islington  and 5, 6, 11 & 12 on the north side of New Road, Tollington Park, Hornsey Road, Islington (valued at £2000) and also 9 & 10 on the north side of New Road (valued at £1000). All the houses were made of brick.

    7 August 1827
    John took out a fire insurance policy with the Sun Fire Office on four unfinished brick houses at 1-4 New Road, Tollington Park, Hornsey Road, Islington (valued at £1600).

    13 August 1828
    In the Sun Fire Office register there is an entry for Isaac Pocock of Maidenhead Bridge, Berks, and John Turle to take out insurance on a [?]  only at 1 Tollington Place, Tollington Park, Hornsey Road, Islington (valued at £400)  and 5, 6, 11 & 12 on the north side of New Road, Tollington Park, Hornsey Road, Islington (valued at £1600) and also 9 & 10 on the north side of New Road (valued at £1000). All the houses were made of brick and empty.  This entry was subsequently altered to the insurers name of John Innes Pocock only, an amendment to show that Tollington Place was now occupied by Jethrow Standerwick and the value of 9 and 10 New Road was reduced to £800.

    NOTE: New Road was subsequently renamed Turle Road.
