Mary was elected to one of the 125 Women Pensioners. She was granted £12 (quarterly?) as well as the "dividends from the Poor Box from time to time during the pleasure of the court."

The first of the dividend payments was made on 26 May 1837 when £31 5s out of the Poor Box was distributed to the 125 widows, each receiving 5s.

There was no evidence why Mary did not receive a pension in the eight years following Joseph's death.
